Good for sport, vast open-plan pub. I'm a single lady bitter drinker, and you'd think I was an alien. I wanted a pint, read the paper, watch the rugby - but I was watched most carefully...
I went to the Stage Door instead.

back in the seventies this pub was called the Oxford Arms, and a pub round the corner in Blackfriers road was called the Flowers,in the early eighties about two years before they demolished the Blackfries pub they swapped names, I never did find out why, have popped in here occaisionally when doing the rounds in SE1, and as I recall nothing spectacular, just an average locals pub

Fantastic pub.
Good pints had by all.

Popping in here one evening last summer, and while the pint was lovely, the place was fairly hostile toward non-regulars ... not a good place to relax.
