On fire this afternoon, with fire brigade in attendance. Probably not an insurance job; these fires usually start at night so the flames have a chance to get going before the firemen get there. Not sure yet whether it will be a write off or can be repaired, but it's going to be closed for a while at least.

Visiting as part of the Somerset CAMRA pub trail. The pub is very pretty indeed, with a nice garden and thatched roof etc, but outside toilets in the 21st century? Come on, I know this is Somerset, but indoor plumbing is nothing special nowadays.
The beer was no better than ordinary even though they claim to have been awarded some kind of award for the quality of their beer.
Basically seems to be a food led pub, although I cant comment on the food, the menu looked too poncy for me.

Went to pub on basis of entry in Good Beer Guide. Lovely old building - must be fantastic in the Winter sitting in front of large wood burner in the inglenook. However our mistake was to visit early on a Saturday evening. ALL tables reserved for patrons eating. Only place to have a drink was at bar stools, already taken, or to stand. We were able to sit at a table laid out for dining but under the strict proviso that we vacated by 8. Hardly a relaxing drink. Pity as the couple of pints of Exmoor I had were really good.

visited here as part of quite a large party.
the seating arrangement was dreadful. Very narrow with waitresses and customers constantly squeezing past and knocking you.
The service ( in fairness there was a lot of us ) was very slow and not over-friendly. The food was very good and my two pints of HSD were
very drinkable. Would only go back at a quiet time.
Definately a place to avoid at peak times

The usual unwelcome reception from the bar staff, although the one who I assume is the owner tried to smile, either that or a touch of wind.
Beer usually OK and has been said many times before, a nice setting
