Can't really rate the pub..... a dozen of us parked up outside the place an hour before opening time with a plan to go for a walk and come back for a pint. A grouchy looking bloke shouited at us from inside the pub that we can't park in a pub's car park.
So we took our money elsewhere.....

very food orientated pub although they did have a good range of ales, five hand pumps I think, maybee too many as the ones i tried though perfectly drinkable were a little flat, probably best to see what all the locals are drinking

Enjoyed a pleasant visit here at the weekend with a small group of friends. We all enjoyed a well cooked lunch and a very pleasant few glasses of Goachers. I do like to see a pub serving beer brewed in the county. They also had Larkins Traditional Ale and Harveys Sussex bitter on tap. Ok, the Harveys was from just across the border in East Sussex, but local enough. A very extensive menu especially if you like fish. It was very busy but the service was good.

We was referred by friend for its good food. We went in one weekday for lunch. I had to admit that we were a bit disappointed as we didn't feel welcomed at all. There were 3 staff at the bar but no one really greeted to us. The landlord was too busy doing his paperwork and on the phone with the supplier at the bar and didnt even make any eye contact with any customer. The food was quite expensive but it was a good portion. My seafood dish is ok but my friend was not happy with his steak meal. It was overcooked. The waitress was very kind to cook another one. However, both steaks were quite tough. IWe don't think it is real rump steak. Mind you don't try the steak unless you want your teeth off. We definitely will not go back. This was not the end of story. My friend ended up having a few diarrhoea in that afternoon.

Visited this pub on the weekend. Lovely welcome from Ray the owner. Great seafood menu, I had the fish pie, forgot what it cost but it was delicious and very reasonable, my friends all remarked very positively about the quality and presentation of their dishes.

The Ale was fresh and lively, enjoyed a half of Goachers and another of Doombar.

Well worth a detour IMHO.
