This pub is now CLOSED. It's a Burger and Lobster now enfilade - 29 Aug 2014 18:07 |
Almost deserted on my visit. The decor was pleasant enough but with cutlery laid on every table it is clearly looking to attract diners. I am not a big fan of this. I didn't see anyone eating and can't really comment on the food. Ales were Pride Adnams, Spitfire and Doom Bar so nothing too original. This pub is ok for a pint if in the area but not worth any special effort to reach murgatroyd - 1 Nov 2010 08:24 |
Nicely refurbished pub, but why is this place empty all the time ? The irish landlord is an all round decent bloke with other pubs in the area but this one needs some life injecting into it. Great food and beers - priced well too. MayfairDandy - 4 Apr 2010 22:28 |
An all round decent bar, but lacking the originality one expects in a mayfair boozer. Decent food and drinks though. MayfairResident - 20 Mar 2010 16:34 |
Its back, yes the Samuel Peyps has reopened all be it under a different name "The Field". Glad to say it has got sky TV probably the only place in the area. We strolled by yesterday and watched the Ashes for a little while. They also had the golf on. 3 ales on tap Sharpes Doom Bar, Sam Brooks Wandle and Shepherd Neame Kents Best and one of the staff assured us they were soon to have 6 ales on. There was 2 draught ciders and 5 or 6 fizzy beers. They were busy serving food which looked good but we did not eat. The doombar was in top form and I will be back for more. paddy1 - 17 Jul 2009 17:40 |
