Once upon a time circa 1969 or 1973 this must have been a very smart hotel. You can still see the quality of the original fittings in the dining room. Sadly the rest of the public rooms are looking rather shabby these days with rips in the seating, some of the lights are out and the tables need a good polish. Two of the letters on the sign outside are out as well so you are welcomed to the F Bar. Has Banks's Original and Bitter on handpump, I had a pint of the Original which was OK. Only 2 other people in the place so it was a bit quiet. It advertises that it is a great place to have your wedding, only if you hate your new wifes family, would be my opinion. It's from a bygone age and probably needs a lot spending on it to make it decent again. I won't be calling in again.

A very 1960s styled building - which is not a bad thing to me, but others may feel it has a dated look. Very friendly, but has always been quiet when i have visited. The Banks's Mild is always a decent pint, hence i visit, but nothing offered in the way of guest or real ales.
