| First stop on our Northumberland crawl was this village pub set in a valley and surrounded by beautiful countryside. The pub is popular with cyclists who I believe were doing the coast to coast ride. The village also has a small museum and a cafe with "off license". The "off license" part was the sale of a local bottled beer. Beers in the pub were Black Sheep Best Bitter, Cumberland Corby Blonde & Saddle Sore Blonde Ale. Well worth a visit, just for the scenery on the way there. We continued through equally impressive scenery to the Traveller Rest in Slaley and the Manor House Inn at Carterway Heads.
