Forgot to say they've just been awarded 5 stars from EHO. It was no surprise to me.

This pub is now under new management as from March & can I say what a difference it has made. The new landlady is doing a superb job at turning this pub back into the excellent hostelry it once was. Food started at Easter and was immediately a big hit with the superb culinary skills of Chef Karen. It has a great menu at really good prices. Friday & Saturday nights have a great atmosphere with disco/karaoke. The function room is fantastic for any occasion, & the pub is large enough to cater for two parties at the same time if necessary. The pub has a pool table, dartboard and a really nice beer garden if you want to soak up some rays while enjoying a nice cool drink. The pub also has 3 large screen TV's for showing of popular events, such as England football matches. If you're looking to join a team for pool, darts, crib, dominoes or anything else just have a word with a member of staff to find out what is available.

Such lies. I'm not illiterate or mentally impaired! I know which greyhound pub I have left my review about. THE GREYHOUND, VILLAGE STREET ON THE OUTSKIRTS OF NORMANTON/CAXTON.
There were at least dozen customers who witnessed this.
Can I add furthermore that a couple of weeks after this incident and mine and another review by another disgruntled customer were left the landlord cancelled the auction held there on a monday and wednesday evenings.
Obviously these recent positive reviews are administered by or for the landlord!

I agree, this used to be a superb friendly family environment and fantastic food.
The current position as witnessed by all is cat excrement around the floors with a nauseating smell. The cats wander over the bars and food prep areas which the current landlord sees as ok without prejudice. Toilets have and uncleaned ammonia smell. Everywhere is substandard and it begs the question how tbe environmental health have not taken immediate action. I witnessed one individual drinking a cup of tea, after which he'd almost finished the and peered inside. He then started violentl wretching as if to vomit profusely. They then showed numerous patrons the inside of the mug. Totally diabolical! !! the cup had what looked (and smelt) like cat faeces smeered thickly around the inside. Wiping a finger removed some thick sludge.
This had then been reported to the pub landlord and fell on deaf ears. Use at your own perol in my opinion.
