The first of 2 pubs I visited in Lambley on Saturday. It is now named simply Robin Hood. I'm not sure what Little John did to get his name dropped. This is a Marstons pub with 2 rooms. I sat in the room used mainly for diners. It was fairly quiet. The public bar appeared much busier. Ales were Banks's Bitter, Ringwood Boon Doggle & Wychwood Hobgoblin Gold. Fairly average.

This pub has recently had the fortune of new management. The couple, Geoff and Vicki, are great hosts and are very welcoming.

I have been frequenting the Robin for a number of years now and due to various changes in management it has been through the mill!!

I can now say its fantastic. Not only are Geoff and Vicki great hosts they have really become an asset to the community.

The pub now has a wonderful menu with good variety. They also have various themed evenings, which are really popular.

Thursdays is quiz night and saturdays have entertainment such as live acts and karaoke.

Prices are reasonable too which is always a good thing!!!

This used to be a cracking little village pub, I haven't visited for five years so was keen to find out what it was like now.
Sadly, the heart seems to have gone out of it. There was no food on offer, and no-one in the place except for two blokes and a dog. There was some sort of annoying pop music playing and a TV showing sports. The barman was a very strange character who, when I pointed out that three of his handpulls were empty replied that the days of cask ales are over. I wondered what planet I was on. There was only one cask ale on offer out of four pumps. It cost 3 and did not taste very good. I fled to the Woodlark and won't be visiting again. What a shame!

I have been here on numerous occasions and always enjoy it. They have a restaurant on one side of the pub and a bar on the other so you can eat without the noise from the bar side which you can hear in some village pubs.
The food is home made or locally sourced so there's no Wetherspoons rubbish! The prices are good as they have a 2 meals for 10 (or similar) deal on so you can have a cheaper night out.
They have a guest beer on most of the time as well which is a bonus. Oh and they have a vegetarian option on the evening menu and on the sunday lunches which is good for my veggy friend!
Pub always looks really pretty in the summer with all the flowers outside.

We visited on a very busy Thursday evening when the bar was hired out to about 50 people.

The Hobgoblin was excellent (probably the best I have had anywhere) as was the Mansfield. Although the kitchen must have been under pressure cooking for 50 people they did well. The food is good wholesome stuff, none of your gastropub nonsense here.

The welcome was friendly and the pub does what a village pub should do pretty well. We will certainly return.
