user reviews of the Silver Dollar Saloon, Leadville

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

This legendary watering hole is located at over 10,000ft above sea level. Situated in an old mining town the bar is steeped in history. originally it was called the Board of Trade. It was a house of gambling and drinking; it is said that Oscar Wilde, after lecturing at the Tabor Opera House, crossed the street and "put down shots with the best of them." Its huge back bar, front bar, windbreak, swinging doors and diamond dust mirrors came from St. Louis by covered wagon.

I didnt eat here andonly had a couple of bottled beers but I swear you could get drunk just on the atmosphere alone. If you are in Vail for skiing, hire a car and check this place out, you wont be sorry.
