Arrived yesterday just after 3.30pm as the landlady was locking the front door but she was happy to serve us as long as we sat outside (in the sun) after we had taken a few photos of the classic interior. The Cheddar Potholer was excellent as was Rich's Cider - not sure how 3 pints totalled £6.30! Worth finding for a glimpse of the past. paul_d102 - 21 Mar 2015 09:13 |
One of the best pubs in Britain. No kidding. Beautiful location. Really friendly staff. Locals friendly. The cider is very reasonably priced, and very nice. Good ale. I really can't praise this place enough. Long may it never change!! WhiteRabbit - 5 Sep 2014 14:54 |
This pub is a gift from God! Long may it continue! PubFanMan - 3 Feb 2014 00:19 |
Another welcome return to this fine pub. Pubs how they used to be. quite busy again, and was told even busier over the Easter weekend. The landlord,s son has now taken over. Great place to drink and great locals noticed a couple of old stalwarts namely Ray & Terry hovering in the same old seats.Food offerings still being brought in by the locals and you can bring your own snadwiches too. Long live the Seymour Arms james55westhead - 16 Apr 2012 06:00 |
A bit of nostalgia that will have you wondering why we bother with the new format of pubs. I was a regular of the equally delightful Lamb & Fountain in Frome (Mother's as it's known!) Mother herself recommended the Seymour as she's an old friend of Jon's. T'is a treat to be blessed with the opportunity of basking in such a friendly, warm and unspoilt bit of history. I am lobbying my local MP to instigate the consideration of opening a train station at Witham.... Gorgeous!!! bornNbred - 23 Feb 2012 20:02 |
