Well, well, well! How things have changed! Took the OH in here on a whim last weekend, expecting the old guard to be there but no! This time it was a nice, friendly atmosphere that greeted us and there was a folk-session going on in a corner. Got talking to another couple and had a great night.

This place has definitely changed for the better!

This pub was recently reopened. The staff were very welcoming. They told us there would be traditional folk music in the evenings. The pub was very small, old fashioned, clean and nice. We had a lovely refreshing beer after walking all around the historic parts of Edinburgh. Saw the pub sign from the main road and thought we'd give it a try and were very pleased with our secret find.

Total dump. Full of drunks who never shave. Beer crap. Type of place the regulars play "spot the tourist".

Wow! Dragged a mate in here last night after telling him about it and within three minutes we were involved in a brawl!! All over the old excuse of "Did you spill my pint??"

I wd agree with Zaphod. Met friends in there who were working at Festival Theatre, and the places was full of action: folk arguing about football; folk drunk and staggering. I even had the honour of the barmaid tipping her can of fag-ash all over my jeans, after being in the place five mins. A rubber-necker's bar.
