Ventured into here again last night and stayed for two drinks. They had issues with the till but they still served us and asked us to stay at the bar so we could pay when they had got it sorted. After a few minutes of looking stressed, the guy who was presumably the manager got it working again, and we were then charged £6 for our two pints which I thought to be pretty reasonable. When we went back to the bar for another drink the same drinks were well over £7. Seemed a bit pricey but maybe I am getting out of touch.

This place is a bit run down but pretty spacious inside and usually room to stand at a weekend without someone walking into you every two minutes. As a real ale drinker I was a bit disappointed to discover it wasn't really a real ale kind of pub - however they did have Old Speckled Hen and it was nice enough. The gents toilets are a bit of an experience, you effectively go and pee in the corner of the bar! Karaoke seems to be the thing on a Friday night - not saying it was great but people seemed to be enjoying themselves which in turn helps create a decent atmosphere.

Called in here after the The Sir Ralph Abercromby on our manchester pub crawl on Saturday. As we were all real ale drinkers, we were hopeing to find a large selection of fine real ales, as the pub is massive. we got to the bar and all they had on was Theakstons. It didnt tase nice as we all agreed. The pub itself is very old fashened and a nice layout but it needs some TLC. It seems they just concentrate on keg lagers / bitters.
Karaoke advertised outside at weekends, thats not my cup of tea. but nevermind. The staff could of been a bit more chatty and they could of smiled a bit more but you cant have everything..... Next pub

The landlord of this pub ruined my friends reception. It advertises a a free function room but you have to order the buffet from them. @7.50 per head, they provided a few stale sandwiches with hardly any filling, some pork pies and some horrible looking chicken drumsticks! The family had to go out to the supermarket to buy food for the guests. The manager/landlord wasnt interested in our complaint and didnt care that the bride was in tears. Total cost 280 for no more than 30.00 food. DISGRACEFUL!

Agree with Bigaudio. Staff not v friendly. Only interested in regulars, it seemed. The gents upstairs was a toilet in a tiny room with not even a sink to wash your hands! Isn't that illegal? Good job I only needed a piss.
