The Swan re-opened earlier this month. The new owners seemed welcoming and there seems to be a focus on food. Whilst the inside of the pub was empty, there were a few groups enjoying the outside patio at the rear. Beers on were Faversham Steam Whitstable Bay Pale Ale & Hook Norton Lion & Hooky. Cider was Westons Stowford Press. Good to see a pub re-open after a fairly long closure. But we did visit better pubs on the day.

Pretty decent pub, more of a restaurant really. Only two ales on Brakespear's Bitter and Hook Norton Bitter at 3.4 and 3.6%, the Hook was good though. Very good food, especially the starter. Wouldn't go as far as the other reviewers especially as there were only two low strength similar beers on, also the young girls (and I mean girls) serving the food and behind the bar were distinctly lacking in any people skills or welcome, the landlord was welcoming though especially to the regulars. Certainly more welcoming than some of the pubs in this area. I'd give it 6/10 for beer merely because of the lack of variety, and 7 for the food as the puddings were a real let down after good starter and mains. Visited on 14 March.

This pub has the balance just right. You are made to feel incredibly welcome if you are there for a 3 course meal or if you're just popping in for a couple of pints. It has recently been refurbished and it looks great.

The food is excellent, there is something for everyone on the well thought out menu. And the service made it that much better.

All in all i would say this is a great pub where everything is geared to making you feel as welcome as possible. I'll definitely be going back....

Spot on!!

Probably the best village pub in Oxfordshire. Cracking food, second to none for value & quality. Great real ales that are well looked after & a good selection of wines. Staff are very friendly, efficient & accommodating.

All in all a great recipe for a great pub. Unfortunately Beerintheevening have the wrong Ph number. The right number is 01993 832332

Do try it, you'll find the warm welcome a novelty compared to most other pubs.
