user reviews of the Kings Head, Braintree

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

Please DISREGARD my previous comment, which was posted in error. I have never been to the King's at Braintree. I confused it with the King's at Broad Green, near Marks Tey.

Great pub with a friendly welcome, excellent quality and good value food (served lunchtimes and evening [except Tuesday evening]) and great value accommodation. Add to that, you'll quickly become one of the locals and enjoy some great real ale and conversation. John and Chris and Sandra are doing a great job. Wish this was my local: shame I live 200 miles away! Will certainly visit and stay again next time I am working in this part of Essex.

Things looking up for the pub, now that the new landlady has taken over. Jade and Dan seem very genuine people and look as though they will make a good go of it here. Pop in and give it a go, im sure you will be pleased, beer very good, nice clean pumps.

Friendly enough if quiet on the activity side. Does have live music over weekends, usually solo performers.

Not as good as it used to be, still a pleasurable place to drink though. Beer's always well looked after.
