I haven't been in the Anchor, so can't comment on Little drummer boys comments, but totally agree The Bell is a great pub. Love the little snugs, and yes it does have a great beer garden. The 'sea view' might be stretching it a bit (you can see the sea if you walk to the fence and look 👀 over)... All the regular Adnams ales, including a tea inspired beer called T drop. This started nice but went flat pretty quickly. definitely recommended after a hard morning catching crabs...!

Why is the Anchor in the CAMRA GBG and not this place? It has bags more atmosphere and character, a better welcome and is much nicer on the inside, with its little snug areas, scrubbed tables and high backed seating. The beer garden is lovely too - and massive!! The beers were well-kept and served the best pint of Southwold Bitter of our recent trip.

Historic, multi-roomed coastal inn with a large garden brimming with families and dogs. A certain pleasing novelty in travelling there by ferry. Hugely characterful with a good choice of excellent Adnams ales - basically, the sort of place where it is a struggle not to 'settle in' for a few hours.

Excellent Adnams pub, as atmospheric as a British pub can be and equally good in Winter (cosy) or Summer (huge and awesome beer garden). Always have a great selection of Adnams on tap and food - particularly the fish and chips - is well cooked and good value. Only downside can be how busy it gets on weekends, particularly in tourist season so if you want to eat or get a table get there early!
