Walked the dog to The Bucks. Went into the bar where there were only four other customers who had all already been served. The barman ignored me for at least two minutes while he messed around behind the bar. Sadly it is not the first time.
Surely the purpose of bar staff is to serve customers, isn't it? It could be a great pub if the service matched the ambience. The reality is the beer is just ok and the service is rubbish.
I'm giving it 2/10 only because the place was open at 4pm on a Thursday.

Popped in this afternoon for lunch. Absolutely freezing inside with no heating. Within seconds of arriving we managed to over hear the landlady telling a delivery driver off for delivering and a representative from North Norfolk council that he as too early for the meeting. The chap only wanted to sit inside out of the pouring rain. She sounded like a demented fishwife.
Despite this, we ordered lunch, or at least tried to. Our drinks order was taken and we were told to go to the snug to order food. In the snug we were told to go back to the table. Once food was ordered a trip to the gents was needed. To our shock they are outside, resembling something of a 1950s brick privy.
Back into the restaurant and the cold really started to kick in. Noses running and half an hour after our order had been taken there was no sign of the food. We offered to pay for our drinks and leave but food promptly then arrived. Sadly with no apology, although that did come later when we paid.
The food was edible but nothing special, and certainly not worth the wait.
My advice, stick to the cafe in Blickling Hall.

Popped in for lunch after a visit to nearby Blickling Hall. Recently re-opened after refurbishment, it was barely warmer than the cold, wet April day outside. The woodburning stove had not been lit. The service was slow and confusing - a waitress took drinks orders but didn't know another would take the food order. The ploughmans were a triumph of presentation over content. Served on a wooden board, unusually for this traditional pub fare it did not include bread. The Gents was poorly sign posted and involved a trip into the pouring rain, quaint but not pleasant. Surprisingly expensive, 3.60 for a pint of Adnams is probably a Norfolk record.

We visited this lovely old pub in early January and had a pint or two which were nice but ridiculously expensive. After checking the menu we decided not to eat there and instead took our business to the Black Boys at Aylsham where we had an excellent meal for a reasonable price. But the young waitress staff at the Buckingham Arms were very attractive with tight short skirts and low-cut tops, so if that's your bag then do pay a visit.

Lovely pub and location ,we stayed there recently and were pretty shocked by the manner and the bad language used by the owner to her breakfast chief which was in full earshoot of her customers it was appauling, addmittedly the food was cold but her tounge lashing could have been more descreet .
Unfortunatly our complaint fell on deaf ears and she( the owner)bragged that because of her attitude she was now unemployable. We shall not return.
