Nothing like I expected having only ever passed it by on the main road.

Massive inside and out.

At lunchtime it was busy with the well-heeled retired lunching.

Two ales, Theakston''s and Courage. Couldn''t fault the quality of the latter but paying £4 would put me off ever coming back.

Now serving London Pride and Deuchars the London Pride is served bright and clear and the temperature is perfect, and if there is anything they will change. The secret drink the Pride it perfect because the Landlord loves it.

I would liken this pub to a 21st Century Coaching Inn providing oak beamed lounge areas with a bar that hosts many a tale of what's happened in Bedfordshire that day.
Its roaring fire proves a magnet for a wide variety of characters from builders to businessmen and on one occasion 30 pilots arrived from the local Suttleworth collection.
The beer is a wide collection of John Smith's Lagers Guiness and ciders Theakston's on hand pump and Deuchars which are regular, consistent and of extremely high quality.
You can stay the night in a selection of on site chalets providing twin rooms bathrooms and then stay for a full English breakfast.
The restaurant which provides an enormous breakfast of cereals, brown or white toast full english or a selection of eggs done in all varieties.
For lunch or evening meal there are a wide selction of choices freshly sourced from the London fish and meat markets from Steak to Beef Wellington Sea Bass to freshly caught Trout and Salmon. The choice s yours bring the famaily.

My partner & I visited this restaurant for New Year 2007. We booked in advance, we waited almost half an before been seated with no apology. We then waited another 15 minutes for someone to take our order.
The main course was delayed as well and was overcooked or missing various parts of the dishes (Prawns missing from fish dish, duck completely overcooked).
The dessert(again delayed) was the worst case of packet mix cheesecake I had the misfortunate or tasting. My partners 'Lemon' Meringue was devoid of lemon & meringue.
For 30 a head this was an absolute waste of money.
A letter to the owner was replied to with ' we were busy' and a basically we don't care attitude.
NEVER AGAIN..the absolute worst experience ever!!
