Called here on an 11 mile muddy walk and was sorely tempted to stay for the afternoon after drinking a beautifully kept pint of Speckled Hen and lulled by the roaring log fire. Will return to sample the tempting menu at a later date - minus the boots!

Visited this pub on a late Sunday afternoon and was extremely popular with diners. A nice looking pub that is a bit off the beaten track. The bar I was in had low ceiling and an open fire and was cozy. The rest of the pub looked to me like it had been added more recently with a higher ceiling and not quite so much charm but still nice. Staff were friendly and the service was good. A limited choice of bitters with GK IPA & Speckled Hen being the only choices of hand pulled beers.

Fantastic location, Great food and I've got to say the Cleanest pub i've ever been in. This attention to detail continues in the great garden/seating area and even the immaculate car park. Get's very busy at the weekend lunch/evening times, even more so when the sun is out. Food quality is great but choice is a little limited. Only other negative would be that the staff at weekends are suplemented by a younger team who frankly can get out of their depth. Also one particular middle "manager" who must be about 19 years old & thinks he's to important to serve drinks. That said the pub remains a firm favourite and it's popularity is testement to it's quality.
