| Undoubtedly the best pub in Chelmsford for a pint. Small and crowded with the usual Irish pub tat (flags and the like) it has a great atmosphere, comfy seating and good beer. Staff are always great, good selection of bar food nibbles and it is the sort of place you can sit down in at 7pm and leave at 11pm, never having moved a metre but seen the world pass through its doors, really great. | The first time I went in this pub a drunken Irish man propped up at the bar informed me in no uncertain terms that they shouldn't be serving English people in here. There was me thinking it was in the middle of Chelmsford! However, I've been a few times since without any problems so I can only presume his attitude isn't the norm for this pub, which is a decent boozer despite being a little cramped.
