Used to use this place regularly, but have to say quality of guest ales has slipped a bit-hope it's a blip 'cos it's a nice pub

Everything a country pub should be - a spectacular selection of ales, terrific, home made food, a shaggy retriever lying across the welcome mat and genuine olde worlde decor. The only pity is having to drive there, leaving me unable to partake of the alcohol. Good service rounds things off and it's a real find - Didcot really is a hellhole leavened by satellite pubs of top quality.

Just won CAMRA pub of the year again- a very consistent pub which is a rarity these days

Decent enough boozer but def could do with some tlc - bar area needs freshening up & lots of the furniture should have a health hazard symbol on it.
On plus side food was decent and the TTLandlord was superb!

As others have said gives impression that its 'coasting'

Perhap I should declare an interest and say the landlord is my second cousin. I made my first visit while the pubs beer and cricket festival was on in July .

This was the best run pub festival I have ever been to. Great beer and food and some excellent cricket. What more does one want.
