We had a meal at The Belper the other night and we found The Restaurant very dull and very cold. However the food was very good, but we will not be eating there again due the unfriendly atmosphere experienced from the locals in The Bar area when we entered the premises...

I like the belper - pity the ghost corner was moved though as I used to take visitors in to show them. Usually a good pint - a beautiful pub inside, especially on a cold winters night. Last twice I have been in there there has been snow on the ground! special place......

Came here for the first time in March and returned April for Sunday lunch. Excellent place, with original looking bar area and a decent garden. Student was at bar asking how much the chips were - on being told they were 1.80 [I think] he asked for a pound's worth! Barman smiled and took his order, which I reckon is worth a thousand 'have a nice days'! Food good value and tasty too, just a shame the Black Sheep was off the menu on the second visit.

We went to the Belper last friday it was packed with a great crowd great atmosphere. Service was very good and the food was excellent. And my main course was only 7.50 smoked haddock risotto it was great. Can't wait to go back the owners are new so lets hope its long lived!

Has always been our favourite pub for sunday lunch until last week. We thought something was up when we got to the car park, usually you cant get a parking space but last sunday it was empty. when we got in the pub we realised it had a new landlord, we used to have a 3 course meal for 11.50. we only had a main course last week and it was 9.50 with no veg !
Just Beef, 3 roast potatoes and that was it.
we wont be going back again.
