this is now called The Three Johns and it is a fairly open plan old style looking place with some real ales on and numerous craft beers, it has a slight trendy Islington feel though not as marked as places on Upper Street. The ales (Grainstore) was fairly drinkable.

No longer the Jay Cubed; it was great 2010, but became an unpleasant shambles in 2012. It's now called The Fallen Angel. It's had a minor facelift and they now have a pulpit in the middle of the pub from which a DJ was playing some decent songs. They've still got a TV showing Sky Sports and I think I saw someone bringing in a Dominos, but the pool table has been removed from the back room. Has a decent range of lagers, but no ales. It was pretty dead on a Friday night, so not many reasons to recommend it.

Dire, not one Hobgoblin ale in sight, and a strange dark interior, think they must be aiming for the goth crowd.

Now called 'The Hobgoblin' it's a Wychwood pub serving a pretty full range of their bottles and Hobgoblin from cask. Ideal for groups of 4 or more, it's a short walk from Angel tube. There's a pool table in the back room and a well stocked juke box of mainly rock. The beer can be a tad dubious, and the hobgoblin is not always on. Finally, beware of the landlord's dog, it has a habit of sampling unattended beers!

Not bad at all.

It fails on its disgusting toilets that stink and often make the whole place smell of shit.

Other than the manky bogs and the stench that you're greeted with, it's ok.

Would have got a 7/10, but gets a 4/10 due to the nasty toilets.
