This is a fantastic pub. So unchanged, without trying to look old. The beer's top notch too. Just wish it was my local and not 130 miles away.

Went there on Friday with a friend of mine who was a regular. Great little pub, the locals were all very friendly and warned me as a visiting Londoner on the dangers of too much Black Rat! Bar staff friendly, made us sandwiches even though kitchen closed, wish I had a pub like this in my neighbourhood. Then again, probably best I don't as I would spend far too much time in it.....

Pretty off-putting from the outside and turn left into the bar and you may be put off by the Black Rat swilling locals. Go right into the cosy snug or better still enjoy the nicely laid out gardens and enjoy one of the well kept real ales - 5 or 6 available on my last visit. Bar staff friendly and after a couple of visits you may get a nod from the landlord. Unspoilt, down to earth and good beer at a fair price - what more could you ask for!

Last year since I was here.the ale was good but mostly national,Courage best,Bass etc. For bristolians the natives were friendly.

Unspolit english pub with separate public bar, lounge and massive beer garden.
Good selection of real ales and cider on draught.
Bar snacks and some food is also offerd.
Has not changed much over the years except for the usual redecorating/maintainance etc.

Well worth a vist.
