I found this to be a light and airy pub, that was perfect for a summer afternoon's drinking session. However, you're restricted to the Greene King selection of ales. IPA, Old Speckled Hen and St Edmunds Ale were the options on my visit with the Royal London off. Aspalls cider is also still available. There are plenty of tables with seating. Music plays in the background. There are black and white pictures of Clerkenwell in the corner in which I sat. Polished floorboards help create a pleasant drinking environment. Menus can be found on each table detailing the range of food and drinks. The place was fairly quiet for a Friday afternoon. But I wouldn't rule out paying a return visit.

Had a leaving party here, totally spoiled by the patronising attitude of the staff, inedible food, and couldn't care less attitude of the manager. Wish I'd visited one of the other better pubs in the area. Will be avoiding in the future.

Greene King IPA and Royal London were the ale offerings here on my recent visit along with a standard draught selection and Leffe with Aspalls being the cider option.

The pub dcor is basic and there was some strange red light glowing at the rear of the pub, but the only other people were a group of lads playing poker on a table by the front door. After Id been there ten minutes the manager walked over to them and moved them upstairs for some reason leaving me in the pub on my own.

I did visit on a quiet week night so I wasnt expecting a great atmosphere, but the attitude of the young barman was appalling so I wouldnt drink in here again if all the other better pubs in the surrounding area were shut.

Right opposite the sorting office the Apple Tree has a fairly traditional exterior but has had the full modernisation inside. It was almost deserted the night I dropped in so difficult to gauge the atmosphere when it is fuller. As someone previously mentioned the art on the wall is a bit dodgy.

I suppose this would be ok if you worked across the street but I can see no real reason to return here.
