The food is excellent, but the beers - oh dear. Despite claiming to be a real ale pub, and dispensing from hand pumps, the beer is clearly keg, not cask real ale. I tried Harveys Best and Doom Bar, but both were tasteless, inspid and not worthy of the name. Real ale affficionados should avoid. lonegroover - 23 Jun 2016 09:44 |
Really like this pub. Excellent food and briliant service. Took my colleagues here for Xmas lunch and they all loved it. Great choice of good real ales too. Sunday lunch is also excellent. seanieg - 21 Dec 2010 15:08 |
Terrible place, vile tasting beer, full of deadbeat ex-student types. Much better when it was the Hole in the Wall. Avoid at all costs. HORRIBLE PLACE Maggie8 - 10 Feb 2010 12:16 |
There is just nothing to recommend this place. Dull decor, dull drinks range. If you're going for the gastro pub /bar look then you should have a great drinks range. This pub doesn't. Greene King possibly to blame? dry_riser_inlet - 12 Jan 2010 23:40 |
I think that this is the first Greene King pub that I have been into that doesnt have IPA. Old Trip, St Edmunds and Morlands were available though from the polite barmaid/manageress. Im not a big fan of these refurbished wanna be trendy pubs, but I would pop back in here for a swift pint if passing. Strongers - 10 Dec 2009 13:20 |
