I have had 2 pleasant visits to the Clog and Billycock recently. The service has improved immensely and is now very friendly and efficient. I had also received poor service earlier in the year and my complaints were taken seriously by the management. They seem to have sorted out these issues and the food is excellent. The menu is just right for this type of pub. You can choose well cooked and presented local food without being faced with the usual offerings of chips, chips and chips! I will definitely be visiting again soon.

The food quality was quite good.

The sevice was very poor due a very bad set of attitudes from staff.

After ordering puddings and coffee after main meal myself and my mother were served coffee first.
As we politely told the waitress that we ordered puddings as well we were rudley snapped at for 'not requesting that we wanted the puddings before the coffee'.
As we furthered our complaint regarding this strange attitude we were greeted by smug grins by the waitress who i pointed this out to.
This situation resulted in my view to nasty partisan behaviour towards a son taking his mother out to lunch.

As my mother became upset the deputy managers attention was requested, this person refused to let us speak to the manager as 'he was on the phone'and did his best to talk over my mothers questions.
The further orders were cancelled and we left.

We have been good customers to this restaurant over a number of years now and have made several recommendations to friends and family.
This wont be happening in the future.

What a remarkable and delightful change in this place in the last 3 years. 3 years ago you would have been lucky to get inside, not because it was busy, but the lack of welcome would have put you off before you really put your head in past the door.

Now however, with the expansion, investment and the kind helpful staff who would welcome you for a coffee, a beer or a meal, you feel that you are part of a family friendly pub/restaurant.

They will help with items not on the menu as well.
Whoever trained and sellected these guys and girls in the new revamped Clog and Billy Cock, should be proud of their sellection and training processe.
