This was the first pub I got drunk in as I only lived round the corner in eyhurst ave and It used to be a good darts pub in the late 60's early 70's and hosted a few good acts as well in the lounge suite and I remember seeing Mike Reed there before he was in the tv series the comedians and got famous after that! This pub always had a bit of a reputation, you know the thing - local "faces". The Elm Park was the only drinking hole in Elm Park but no more. It has now closed down (no surprise) and is now being turned into a Sainsbury's. BIGSUGARDADDY - 23 Aug 2013 14:19 |

I have lived just around the corner from this place for the last couple of months. Having frequented the Elm Park on occasions, it’s an unloved barn of a place. The film; One flew over the cuckoos nest, comes to mind when describing the Elm Park. Regulars taking there medication, dispensed by nurse Ratchet behind the bar, in the form of the strongest lager. If you are planning a visit my advice is no eye contact with anyone in the bar. Last time I went in, the bloke next to me at the bar asked for a pint of whatever was coming out of the fosters tap today. Most definitely not foster. allegro3 - 20 Nov 2012 15:46 |
This pub has to be one of the worst in the area. Popped in there the other day whilst waiting for a train. Its the pits. Its a massive pub with only about 6 people in it. I think that speaks for itself. It was dirty, unfriendly and not somewhere I would consider going back to! The locals looked like there were all related and on benefits! (you know the type) Definatley somewhere to avoid! RealPubMan - 29 Oct 2010 10:46 |
