Back to basics pub. Real fire. Jukebox and pool table. No restaurant but fish and chips is sold on Fridays. Beer and house doubles are cheap. The only thing that lets the pub down is the unwelcoming landlady who rarely cracks a smile and seems to always be counting down the minutes to closing time. Thankfully she usually has a friendly barmaid working who doesn't mind serving drinks and doesn't make you feel like you have said something wrong by ordering a pint in a pub. Come on love, cheer up a bit or maybe try another profession .

Dropped in here a month or so ago after about 20 years. The place has changed slightly. The beer was good, I've actually forgot what I had!! Great improvement on the old days. Sorry to hear about Bob, the old landlord. He was a jolly fellow!! Mind you, he had to have a sence of humour with some of the dross that use to get in here years ago. Glad to see they've all moved on!!!

Good village pub - friendly staff and well-kept beers.

Very quick review as I was looking for further info on this pub myself to put together a review for somewhere else (virtualtourist.com actually).

This is a really nice pub, friendly owners, friendly customers, decent beer. A proper pub with the addition of an eclectic Mexican restaurant.

This pub is well worth a visit as also is the Ilchester Arms Hotel off the square.
