please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

Visited on Thursday night, The owners are in the of refurbishing the main bar, It is due to reopen in the next 10 days. So on this occasion I had to use the function/skittle alley part of the bar. I tried the Thatchers 'traditional' cider.....excellent!! I will visit again when next in the area. Give it a try!

Brewguru - Just a remark about your comment. 'Chill Haze' is a fallacy. What you were infact experiencing was cloudy or hazy beer....simple. Perhaps the user name 'Beerguru' is not apt for you.

As for the pub, the last time I was in here was 1988. I shall be visiting Yeovil shortly, so I will visit the unit and report back then. Therefore I can not give a 'score out of ten until then!! It use to be a good pub, hopefully it still will be!!!

Large lane side pub in a cluster of houses known as Holywell. (a mile south of the A30 as it enters Yeovil). A freehouse, beers were from Cottage and Branscombe Vale. They were served with a chill haze, the outside cellar being too cold at this time of year. Otherwise no complaints. No food though which is surprising as these sort of rural pubs surely depend on this trade.

Good pub just outside of Yeovil. Friendly staff and well kept beers. Menu is modest but inexpensive and good value.
