please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

Proper West Country pub, choice of ciders from the barrel and 3 real ales, woodburner and flagstone floors add to the atmosphere.

We went there on a quiet lunchtime, mainly for some food. The landlord could not have been more pleasant, and we had excellent light lunches - that were actually rather filling - and some well kept beer.

The review below must of been an off day as this really is a great little pub and what makes it great is its all about beer which in this day and age of gastro pubs almost makes this a theme bar.
Also one of the only pubs around that holds 2 beer festivals and a cider festivals.

Used to be excellent good beer, food and service. Sadly today, under the new management, service, food and ambience were atrocious. We waited an hour for fish and chips overcooked and inedible. Glasses were dirty, white wine served at room temperature. No apology, the barman was surly, charmless, aggressive and cared only about presenting us with the bill. He refused to take our comments on board or to allow us to talk to the chef. We wont be going back. Avoid at all costs.

Excellent fish menu and a fine selection of beers. Tricky car access.
