Visited again last week. Still a friendly local serving good real ale, Blindmans and Abbot. Also a real cider on tap. Looks a bit tired from the front but don't be fooled. Great beer garden at the rear and watch out for the red settee by the loos

This was a surprise: I had been past this hundreds of times and I had thought it looked a little down-at-heel and rough (a crudely hand-painted sign promising "Good Food" doesn't really promise much), but finally I stopped. It is basic inside, but this is an extremely friendly (if basic) place with lots of friendly locals. It has a pretty wide range of food, with large portions, and a VERY good range of well-kept drinks (even including local farmhouse cider). This is certainly worth a visit and knocks spots off the other nearby pubs in Shepton and Evercreech. 6.5/10

Visited a couple of times during the last week in July. Despite a rather precarious location on a bend and looking a bit tatty from the front I was pleasantly surprised on going inside. Two Greene King beers well served, a reasonable menu and a garden with excellent views over the nearby showground and the countryside beyond. Building a kids play area outside which will be an asset. Only downside was the loos. Give it a try.
