A decent local with well kept ales. Worth a visit.

Very fine community-owned pub. Friendly barmaid. Excellent beer - Hooky.

The most 'pubby' of the four Wolvercote options, this community-owned pub was hosting an match of that old Oxfordshire institution Aunt Sally during our visit. The welcome was warm and the Loose Cannon Bombshell was exceptional. The only drawback may be the lack of parking what with the proximity of The Red Lion (now Jacob's Inn) out front.

Popped in on a Friday night for a meal as the sign outside said it served food ordred a pint and asked what food they had . Chicken curry beef curry or pizzas was the answer no menu nothing.

Definatly a locals pub some looked like they had just left work and come in for a drink even though it was gone eight on a Friday night.

Supped up and went into the red lion across the road. for a good meal and friendly staff.

A hugely improved pub following the appointment of a new landlord in late 2006 after some years of neglect, undrinkable beer, high prices and a dodgy clientele. Great guest beers and a pleasant atmosphere, improved no end by the smoking ban.
