It's OK. Greene King pub. I was only in briefly, mid-afternoon, and suspect it may get mobbed later.

Popped in here while waiting for my train. It has been refurbished in the "Laura Ashley" handbook style but it is quite pleasant and was very busy (Friday 5pm). A good mix of age groups (maybe just too many young squawking kids?) Greene King beers although they do have a guest ale - Titanic Iceberg was advertised but to the barman's credit he said he couldn't serve it to me as it was at the end of the barrel! I had Ale Fresco which was OK. They do food; have a patio and outside seating and overall I thought it was an OK pub. One thing though - I couldn't see clock anywhere which to me would have been handy as I nearly missed my train!

The location ten minutes from the high street makes this spacious ivy clad pub a good place to escape the crowds. Standard Greene King ales and menu, efficiently served. The bar staff told us a refurb is due next month (Nov 2010).

Visied today for the first time in 20+ years. Now owned by the mighty G King. 4 pumps with IPA, Abbott, Morris Mayhem (?) and Hen advertised but only the last one on. Pint was fine and I was surprised that it was only 2.90.

Got there about 1400 on a warm Friday and they'd obviously had a busy lunchtime. Lots of tables in the garden were full of glasses etc but were quickly cleared as the place got quieter. No issues with the service. Food menu looked reasonable.
