This used to be a great pub, the landlord was great and had a vision to create a pub that you want to hang out in, since it has changed manegment it has lost everything that was good, and the only people that fequent it are pretencious hippsters and thats if there is anyone in there at all.

I will avoid this pub as there are so many good pubs in Brighton and I advise anyone else to do the same.

Always worth a visit for a pint. Top landlady too.

Usually two real ales on, of variable quality, also pizza and drinks deals. Its situation on the main drag down from the station means it's often frequented at weekends by hooting twenty-somethings, but that's made up for by an excellent live music venue upstairs.

Not a place to go for an atmsopheric drink, but represents an acceptable hassle-free town centre bar.

Frequented by mixture of people on their laptops and those that seem to have spent a lot of money trying to look homeless. 1 off a pint anytime before 5pm weekdays, otherwise not cheap. Despite a recent refurb it's starting to look a little on the tired side (ripped sofas etc.) Agree, more of a bar than a pub.

Still there, still called the Hope, still a bar rather than a pub. Seems to specialise in sofas and tapas. Quite an attractive looking bar that is well kept.
