A pub that has really found its feet after becoming a freehouse a few years ago with an excellent range of well kept beers. It also serves the best breakfast within miles!

Typical community pub, it was neither friendly or unfriendly. It has live bands on. Beer prices reasonable, although they seem to go up when the bands start. Staff were friendly and competent. Had a pint of Spitfire which was either off or on the verge of and the barmaid mentioned there might be a problem with it. Also had a pint Celebration (can't remember the brewer but it was a familiar one). which was palatable.

An fairly unremarkable pub opposite the petrol station/Tesco but importantly it is first and foremost a pub. Three ales on (Spitfire, GK London & Tribute) of which I tried a pint of Tribute. Am not normally a fan of Tribute but this was a pretty decent drinkbale pint of it. I quite liked this place overall though as t still is a proper drinker's pub and they are a dying breed these days.

Good sociable boozer, without plazma telies and loud juke boxes, good variey of background music through the week and plenty of live music, discos and karaoke's over the weekend, log fire in winter to die for, good choice of real ale (3 pumps), lager, cider and Johns Smiths and Tetleys, not to forget Guinness. Try it (enjoy).

Went to this pub yesterday afternoon for the first time in quite a while as The Gibraltar Castle down the road is now non-smoking. There's a new decked area out the front now and the Stella was OK. Not bad.
