Busy on Bank Holiday Monday; in fact so busy that drinks orders were being taken (illegally!) at the bar (although my pint of Staropramen was then brought to my outside table). It was too warm a day for the Goffs Cheltenham Gold or one of the other handpulled ales (I think I saw TT's Landlord as well). paul_d102 - 4 Jun 2021 09:13 |
The last time I was in this pub earlier this year a local pissed up apache soiled himself at the bar, and I ain't talking fluids. Will NOT be back. Honeybadger - 26 Apr 2012 14:44 |
Excellent reasonably priced, local food. Only a couple of real ales on tap although well kept and the best place to get a pint of the locally brewed Jouster. Attached wine shop has an excellent selection, which you can drink in the pub for 5 corkage which is a great deal. Not so much of a boozer, more of a place to head for a meal with friends or a few drinks with your other half. Music was not great - quiet enough but very bland - seems to have improved with new staff recently though. zeanard - 8 Sep 2009 18:59 |
A pleasant place to stay, with an attractive room at a very reasonable price and a good English breakfast, but there was loud music in the bar, so we ate elsewhere. cato - 15 Aug 2008 15:02 |
The food here in both the bar and the dining room is exceptional. Good quality ingredients locally sourced and well presented. The bare area is good and the staff attentive and friendly. The beer (Jouster and Archers) were both excellent. The concept of tasting wine before a meal then paying only 5.00 corkage to drink it is a good one in these days of high mark ups. gassybrew - 17 Jun 2008 14:00 |
