user reviews of the Cavalier, Devizes

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

The Cavalier is a community Wadworth pub on a housing estate at the edge of Devizes. It has a single room with a pool table and TVs (showing Wimbledon) where you enter from the large car park and a dartboard at the other end. Most locals were congregated around the bar which was dispensing 6X and IPA. There is also a garden, which seemed to be popular with the kids and a skittle alley at the back. Very much a functional kind of place that serves a good purpose. But not worth a special journey here from the town centre.

Anonymous of 11/02/06 please give it another try as James and Trish formerly of the Goat and Tricycle (how dare you poach the best landlord and landlady in Dorset you damn rotters)! in Bournemouth have taken over which guarantees that the ales will be well kept.

Unfortunately this is my nearest (local) pub, I've tried the Wadworths 6X here on infrequent occasions and nearly always found it off. This is a shame being in the same town its brewed in. The price list here is too expensive compared to better pubs in the town centre. Friendly enough, unfortunately the landlady doesnt look after her real ale.

it a friendly pub with a warm atsomphere serving real ales which are always spot and in the summer its had a large garden which welcomes children and often has fun days with bouncey castle etc and it lights up in the evening so even when the sun go down can still enjoy the warm weather
