This Is one of my favourite pubs in colchester it is a very friendly place to be and full of special nights of entertainment from karaoke to well organised and fun music and general knowledge quiz and a curry nights food is very nice and it is very spacious with a good size dance floor would recommend this pub to all my friends

Nice local pub, friendly, welcoming and cheap. Good place to watch the football.

The beer wasn't good, but it is far from being the worst I've had in Colchester. On the plus side, I got a warm welcome, good conversation and had an enjoyable evening. If they got over the real ale problem, this would be a really good pub.

I walked in tonight and was somewhat surprised to see both "handles" in the Front Bar with no pump clips on either.

"Have you got any Bitter??", I enquired..."Why Yes, we've got John Smith smooth"!! Was the unexpected reply!

"Nooooooo....have you got any Real Bitter"? "Oh No, we couldn't shift it, plus it was hard to sell once it had been kicked around the cellar floor"!!

Nuff Said! A shame, 'cause with it's $ky TV it would have made a decent place to watch the footie - plus it's only a 30 second walk from home!!

If you're after anything that's not nitro-keg and very cold/fizzy, avoid like the plague!!

Top marks to Paul the landord for putting the effort to make this a very entertaining pub. Good beer, friendly staff usually something different on most evenings. (quizs, bands, darts Sky TV etc)
