user reviews of the Rising Sun, Weston

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

This is one of those pubs that you drive for ages along country lanes and think surely there can't be a pub around here. But it suddenly appears like an oasis. The Rising Sun is a McMullen's house. It has 3 real ales. AK & Country Bitter are the regular beers. The seasonal beer was Victory Stout. The Stout tasted more like a dark mild than a stout. There were a few locals and their dogs in the main bar area. There is also a large dining area, which was unoccupied. Quite a cosy place though.

They seem to have those odd hours where they only open around lunch time and dinner time. Not too much of a problem except we got there about 5 mins before they closed today :(

I've never eaten here only ever had a drink. They do sell McMullen AK!!! And some other I cant remember (sorry!). A largish pub set in big grounds. A good place for the family as they have a huge garden area where you can let the kids out to play footie or feed the horse or something.

Staff seem ok and the place seems alright. They have a lot of photos and stuff on the wall which is nice to look at.

I will review again if I ever eat there.
