Nice back street pub, heavily into rugby. Good beer range and the ESB was excellent.

I quite like the Sun. I hadn't been for a few years. But it's a very pleasant pub with a strong rugby following, located close enough to the station to be handy, whilst being far enough away from the main drag so as not to get too packed. There are a number of TVs. Some were showing the football. Others were showing the cricket. The only drawback is that it is a Fullers pub. Seafarers, Spring Sprinter, London Pride & ESB were the 4 ales from their range. I'll leave my score unchanged.

Had a well kept ESB while my beautiful visiting french chum had the equally well kept seafarers. No fullers bottles unfortunately but lots of rugbyabelia all over the walls and ceilings. The layout means its easy to get a seat with the perfect balance between privacy from other rugger types while having unrestricted access to the bar. The bar staff were friendly, the decor hasn't been changed, excepting rugby posters, since at least the early 80's at a guess (think dark browns and carpets). I liked this pub as did my chic parisienne companion for the day.

Nice pub but the beer is a surely bit overpriced (£4 for ESB, £3.77 for Chiswick)

Beer: excellent in both range and condition.
Service: friendly and knowledgeable.
Food: don't know as drink bitter here then meal in a restaurant.

A rugger pub with good manners including and particularly at busiest times.

A good pub.***
