Spent SUN/MON 13th/14th AUG 2011.
A very friendly pub, the carvery was really nice. The young man behind the bar very very funny, Should be on the stage.
Before we were due to come home , we had lunch and the young lady who cooked for us really did us proud.
Will be back again, real soon.

Disappointing food in quality although get plenty of it! Undercooked oven chips, stale burger bun.
No atmosphere. Bar staff young and seemingly only interested in their friends. Avoid.

For five successive years I organized a Christmass Lunch for about forty guests at the Griffin which was a delight. Food & staff were great. On attempting to book for the sixth time I found new people in charge. I was assured that a Christmass menu would be sent to me; it wasn't so they were clearly not interested in accepting my booking and another pub got the order(see Kettleburgh Chequers).

I thought I would give this pub another visit,as there are new landlords in.
They have a new menu which is traditional english type foods.
The prices were very good, and the portions where huge.
I will be going back soon

The landlords of this pub are trying to make this a nice place to visit again.
The food has certainly gone downhill quite a bit.
I had burger and chips, the chips were not cooked properly even though they were oven chips, the burger had no salad just a plain burger in a bun.
I found this rather dissapointing as it cost 5.95
