user reviews of the Lewis Bar, Stornoway

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

This particular pub is very basic inside and it is not maintained well whatsoever. The main point I would like to portray about this pub is that the staff that are employed there is extremely rude (Karen in particular). I witnessed her swearing at customers and even to myself for no reason whatsoever. Extremely poor hospitality for the preceding point. The pub has rips in the seats provided and it is dirty and poorly kept. The toilet facilities are not the best, with the person inside able to see outside with the holes in the window. It is clearly seen that remains of urine are on the floor and the smell is horrific.
Easily the worst pub I have come across in my life.
I would recommend that visitors and locals alike steer clear of this pub for these reasons. There are many other pubs in Stornoway that are well kept and maintained, with friendly staff also.

Regards,
John.

Other than the Crit this is still one of the few places in Stornoway where you can have a decent pint. Its pretty basic but has all the essential requirements such as friendly bar staff (more often than not) and a decent range of malts. You are also likely to meet a few locals ( and not the wee neds that seem to plague every small town nowadays).
