Smart, modern pub with friendly locals and a good place to watch the footie. Golden Pippin is usually in excellent form.

An old person's pub! Landlord is from the lakes, and tried turning what could be an ok pub into a poor excuse of a country style pub. With tacky out-dated decor. And jugs and things hanging from the ceiling in the bar area! Horrible seating, and mis-matched lighting! An alful pub, with absolutely no atmosphere. A complete eyesore on the inside, and an arse hole as a landlord.(Who will bar you for anything!-even talking during 'entertainment'!) Hopefully he'l be gone soon, as the pub is up for sale (at a stupid amount) Plus sides:- Has a large car park. If it had a complete re-furb (inc. taking down the bar and relocating it to make best use of the space) it could be a really good pub. It's over the road from the Cricketers. 5 mins away from the Dial. Only 15 away from the Brown cow. And has a bus stop close by to get into Bury town centre (5 mins on bus) It also has planning permission until 2009 to build a restaurant extension on to the side. (for time being theres a chineese over the road!)
Would rather drink in the smaller, but fat better Cricketers.
