user reviews of the Feathers Inn, Campbeltown

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

The place was empty at 10pm with loud music blaring out for no one's benefit. A swift lager and away from the place. It was at the centre of three pubs in a row the other two not being listed on here.

I visited this pub on Christmas Eve. I entered the Pub at around 2030hrs. I was there with 3 work colleuges. We enjoyed a few drinks & put some money into the juke box. Coverasation was light and of good humour.
On the whole the service was fine & the clientel jovial/friendly. However, when one of my colleauges went to investigate when his Juke box selection was going to come on? He was then headbutted in the face!!!!!
The assialant appeared to turn on mu colleauge who I think was just asking to for room to pass by.
I have never seen anything like this in a pub & was absolutely shocked! Thankfully my first reaction was to aid & restrain my colleauge & along with another of my colleagues, was able to calm and re-asure the victim. My requests for the police, was met with blank looks form he bar staff, who only offerd a few napkins, in a meagre form of first aid!
A strange man started to approach us & urged us to order a taxi. I did as he said, becuase I felt the entire establishement had now become hostile. I was, in the meantime trying to treat my colleauges bleeding nose & re-assure him that the attacker had left the establishment.
This was christmas eve!!! One that I will never forget!
Unfortunatley my evening & possibly christamas was spoiled by the occasion. I have nothing really agianst the pub, but my experience was utterly ruined & I will never visit the place again.
This may say more about one individual than Campbeltown as a whole, but my experience will now never be altered. I will not ever visit the town & will certsainly never recommend anyone else to, unless ofcourse they are into public acts of violence!
Shame!!
