This pub has been closed and boarded up for some considerable time now - I know this because I can see it when I go past on the DLR every morning

Had a great session in this place with the chaps from the local fire station. Alas the flame has died and it will soon be a shop and 8 flats.

Ok, forget it chaps, have been reliabley informed that this little gem is going to become four flats, therby starving Shadwell of it's only traditional establishment. You could try the Thomas Neale in Watney Market from now on, or move to a part of London whose population hasn't been so ruthlessly displaced by the British government over the last couple of generations that you may find somewhere to have a decent pint and a decent laugh.

Cracking little locals boozer that had managed to stay open whilst literally every other nearby pub has had to close down. Friendly staff, well kept beer, albeit mainly lager, although good Guinness. Can be a bit lively but all good clean fun. Best on Saturday afternoons where you can take advantage of the free cockles, prawns and sarnies, gets packed. I have moved overseas now, and am wondering if its still going?, It was 7 months ago.
