Rumoured to become a Tesco local.

This pub is/was in South Hampstead (or Swiss Cottage if you are one of the increasing herd of people that think all areas of London are named after a tube station...) not in Kilburn.

When I lived nearby I went here a couple of times. Its a working class estate pub built into a council block situated in the middle of a nice residential area. Was not, in my experience, unfriendly or threatening at all, though far less nice than the charming Arches wine bar around the corner on Fairhazel Gardens. Served standard lagers, had a pool table and a darts board and attracted a fair few people in lurid sportswear who, like most young people in sportswear, were not in any way looking for trouble but just dressing like their peers.

Now closed down and good riddance.

Oh God - dodgy or what. When I was last in it had just been done up in a lurid reddish colour. One of those "Are you looking at me mate?" type of pubs. There was a very toilety smell coming from the bogs and this gently wafted across the pub. Nice.

I've never had the guts to go in. Full of meat-heads with dangerous dogs, un-tethered children and women falling out of their hot pants. It's worse in the summer. If you're lucky they'll be doing Karaoke on a Saturday night. Best go to the Ye Olde Swiss Cottage up the road.
