| This pub is on the outskirts of Windsor overlooking the Long Walk, with the real castle in the distance. Almost the same list of "Great real ales" on as Mappiman's visit - Brakspear Bitter, Courage Directors & Young's Bitter. The main bar is still quite traditional, whilst there is a conservatory for dining, which presumably becomes a suntrap in clement weather. | After walking 14 miles from Chertsey, I was desperate for a pint. The advertising on the pub sold it to me - "Great Real Ales". Courage, Doom Bar and my chosen Brakspear Bitter were on. | Sat outside in the beer garden on a hot day in June with a fine view of the great park. The beer was certainly acceptable and while I did not eat the food looked to be of a good quality and they were certainly a busy enough kitchen. One of the better pubs in Windsor Apostar - 14 Oct 2009 15:46 |
