It's just had a major makeover, and is now completely different to the old pub - it's very stylish, and has a nice, comfortable feel to it. Not somewhere that's going to win any CAMRA awards - go to the nearby Mermaid or Blacksmith's Arms for a good selection of real ales - but definitely a good place to meet up with people. It does food but I didn't try any of it.

Beerintheevening people: it no longer has a pool table. Can't remember seeing a TV but I'll leave that for somebody else to confirm. And they still have outside seating.

Had had several new tenants recently and seem to have given up on the music. Usually empty when I drive past and only a matter of time before it becomes flats.

great pub, weird but lovely locals, they all seem to know each other very well . That's what a pub's about innit. No real ale but the mix in there is unique. young , old , male, female. Strange place , not everyone's cuppa tea but loved it when in St Albans. Yep, I'm sure characters beyond belief in there, it's a throwback! Nice staff too.

Definitely open again. The new landlord is making a good effort with regular music at the weekends, but there's a LOT of local competition, so only time will tell if they can survive.
