Excellent pub in the outskirts of Pontefract. Visited on Saturday 25th January 2025. A good range of beers from the North range of beers. Five real ales on. Well worth a visit. zipdiskdude - 30 Jan 2025 16:13 |
THE pub to visit in Pontefract. The owner (formerly of Fernandes in Wakefield), serves an ever changing range of quality real ales (including some from his own brewery at Filey -East Coast, and his own recently installed brewplant at The Robin Hood itself). A no nonsense basic ale house. Wonderful. arihall - 9 Sep 2013 17:49 |
Lots of choice and constantly changing well kept beers and ciders. They will give you a sample if the beer is new to you. Pleasant and helpful staff in a traditional town pub. Good friendly atmosphere. catador - 24 Apr 2012 19:57 |
The "Robin Hood" has returned and is better than ever. Eight (yes Eight) hand pumps and a few Belgos. Wonderful atmosphere, with Darts, Dommies and two quiz nights. The beers are great and reasonably priced. Well worth a visit. StrawhillJ - 18 Nov 2010 11:25 |
Since it's a new landlord it could probably do with a new start on the ratings. Been again today and the pub has a very friendly feel with families welcome as well as the usual regulars, and a number of new faces. The beers, which are in great numbers are constantly changing, though thankfully there are plenty of Filey brews left. had a pint of Old Empress today, an old favourite which is as good, if not better than before!
