Newly refurbed as a Barras house so thought I'd pop along tonight (Friday) 3 handpumps (Tetley, Bombadier and Marstons EPA) - ALL OFF Poor training? Lazy staff? Who knows, but why go here when Boxmoor has other (better) boozers where you are can get what you want - poor toozer - 11 Nov 2011 22:33 |
Large multi-area Spirit Group pub in a residential area of Boxmoor. Tidy, clean and well presented, seemed popular with most customers looking like locals. Good menu with a number of 2 for 7 offers. Juke box, fruit machines and a dartboard. No childrens certificate so they are confined to the small garden area. Four hand pumps with standard beers and Tetleys cask good value at 1.98. Cask Marque accredited. Millay - 23 Nov 2008 20:37 |

One of the few pubs in Hemel that are not terrible. Nice old building just across from the moor. Greshon - 10 Feb 2008 20:20 |
Well visited this pub a few times recently and hasn't been too bad but recently it has been run at night time by a very different young staff who seem a bit confused. I was in last Thursday and asked about my favourite, Lizzie and was told she wasn't well, get well soon Lizzie. She is the best staff in a pub I have seen for a long time.I was also told that the manager was on holiday for a few weeks and have to say, it shows, the place is very dirty. The cigs butts in the car park and outside the front could be their way of hiding the fact that no glasses had been collected. An over turned table in the middle of the outside seating was a lovely feature. Maybe it should be in the Tate called "ashtray fallen off table", must be a big one. Funfare was good, old fashioned but great crowds. wildrover - 15 Jul 2007 19:47 |
